How many total sessions can I expect to have over the course of our time together?

It depends on each person and their unique needs. Clients tend to see progress within the first 3 months of regular weekly appointments and many continue on to make further progress towards their goals for another 6+ months, or will create new goals to work towards.

What locations do you serve?

I provide therapy virtually, through secure video appointments. I am licensed to provide therapy in the state of Washington, so if you reside anywhere in Washington State, you are eligible to receive therapy services through remote, video appointments.

How soon will I see results?

It really depends on a number of factors, but I always plan to work on education and skill-building at the very start so folks can start using some strategies right away. Clients tend to see progress within the first three months of therapy. Have a look at my tips on how to maximize your time in counseling so you can get the results you want to see without losing precious time.

How will we measure progress?

Tracking progress is an important part of achieving goals. That’s why in our first few sessions, I will be gathering information and talking with you about your goals for therapy. We will co-create a progress chart where you define what progress would look like for you personally vs no progress, and plot where you are currently on the scale. We will also talk regularly about barriers and roadblocks to progress as well as strengths and successes. This way, we can check in regularly and have a visual representation of how things are going for you.

I’d like support, but I’m not sure that I really need therapy. How do I know if counseling is right for me?

It is true that counseling may not be the best fit for everyone in every season. There are many other options for personal growth and healing such as peer support groups, coaching, and skills-based groups, and faith-based support found online or locally. People with a wide range of needs/goals can benefit from talking to a therapist. Have a look at my “Do I Really Need Counseling?” post to hear about some ways I can help.

How will I know if we’re a good match?

I want to be as open and transparent as possible about who I am and what I’m like as a counselor so people can feel comfortable with their decision to meet with me. I want to invite you to have a look through my website and browse through my YouTube channel to get an idea of what I’m like. I also welcome you to sign up for a free one-on-one chat with me so I can learn more about you and your needs, and answer any questions you may have.
